Kanha Jungle Safaris
Considering the problems faced by local people, tourists, hotelier, travel agents due to NTCA guidelines to reduce vehicle limit in core zone, park management of Kanha National Park tried to provide some relief trough introduction of new safari zone in Buffer area.
From 21/Dec/2012, visitors are doing game rides in new safari zone at Kanha National Park named “KHATIA ZONE“. It covers forest area of buffer zone adjoining to core area near Khatia entrance gate. Khatia safari zone at Kanha covers villages and forest area. As if now, it is available best solution for walk-in tourists who have not made any advance booking and core zones safari tickets are sold out. Those sitting far can do the booking through resort or their travel agent. Its safari cost is also comparatively less than Kanha core zones safaris. This step is taken to provide relief to local safari vehicle operators who are loosing their earning due to reduction in vehicle limit and for tourists also who wishes to visit Kanha park but due to tickets problem unable to do so.
Jungle safari in Khatia zone gives you chance see Kanha mammals like Indian Gaur, Leopard, Spotted deers, Jackals, Sambhar, Wild dogs(Dholes), Hanuman Langur, Barking Deer etc. It doesn’t rules out tiger sighting because sub-adults, old-aged and tigress with cubs often avoid core zone areas and prefers buffer zones for survival. In addition to this it will serve the purpose of birding and village visits in single run.
